Professional career
Dr José María Ruiz Moreno is an ophthalmologist in the Retina and Vitreous Department at IMO (Instituto de Microcirugía Ocular).
Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Puerta de Hierro University Hospital-Majadahonda. Madrid. Member of the Clinical Leaders Forum (CLF) and chairman of the Miranza Training Committee.
He specialises in medical and surgical retina, with special interest in research, particularly focused on pathological myopia, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema, and imaging diagnosis of retinal diseases.
He has been the chairman of the Spanish Retina and Vitreous Society (2015-2019) and is currently the chairman of the Retinaplus foundation.
PhD in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Zaragoza and Fellowship of the European Board of Ophthalmology.
