effects: prevents wrinkles and/or keeps skin looking young

3

therapy sessions over three months

What does it involve?

It stimulates collagen production through multiple micropunctures in the skin.

When these are introduced at the appropriate depth, they create tiny channels that the body fills by synthesising new collagen, which is crucial for good, healthy skin, since it strengthens and firms it.

When is it carried out?

It is recommended for patients seeking to preserve their skin’s texture and radiance. It is normally used as preventive or maintenance therapy in people with young skin who want to delay the effects of ageing. After the age of 25, natural collagen production starts to decline.

Prior examinations

  • A personalised examination and assessment of the patient.
  • Photographs to assess the patient’s condition before and after the treatment.

During the treatment

  • This treatment is performed in the doctor’s surgery. It is painless and minimally invasive for the patient.
  • The oculofacial plastic surgery specialist applies an anaesthetic ointment before the treatment to minimise discomfort.
  • Using a high-precision MicroPen, micropunctures are made at a controlled depth over the entire face to stimulate collagen production.
  • Three initial sessions, each lasting 20 minutes, are recommended over a four-week period. After that, a yearly maintenance treatment is recommended, depending on the patient.

After the treatment

  • There may be some skin redness within the first few hours, similar to the effects of sun exposure. The following day, the skin regains its normal colour.
  • The patient can resume his or her normal routine immediately. No sick leave or special precautions are needed, although it is especially important to protect the skin from the sun and keep it properly hydrated. A few days after treatment, some flaking may occur on some parts of the face.
  • The results are visible within one week of treatment. The effect will gradually disappear due to the body’s natural response, although its duration will depend on each patient and his or her skincare routine.
