What makes us unique

Freedom of action

The success of the IMO is largely due to its particular structure and the role played by the centre’s ophthalmologists, owners and co-directors. It is an unusual model in Spanish private healthcare that guarantees complete freedom to carry out work with patients as effectively as possible without external constraints and business interests.

“After years of experience, we founded the IMO with a strong desire to ensure that we would manage our own resources. Only this way have we been able to invest in machines that may not be profitable in the short term, but give us greater diagnostic capability to help patients get better.”

Maximum respect for the eye

Although the eye is a small organ, it is highly complex in terms of the diseases that can affect it and the surgical procedures required to treat it. The IMO’s main objective is to provide a customised solution based on maximum respect for the eye. Long-term care is paramount, since we are not only interested in curing patients at the time of the visit, but also in improving their quality of life, and always by means of minimally invasive techniques.

“Machines and technology have become so commonplace in medicine that they create a false impression of being the most important elements in medical intervention. The key element, however, is the doctor, who diagnoses, makes medical decisions, treats the patient with his or her hands and uses the most appropriate techniques.”
