Specialist in Ophthalmology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, via MIR, 1992-1995. He specialised in oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal tract surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London in 1996. Further education at universities like University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

Specialisation

He is an expert on ocular, eyelid and lacrimal tract plastic surgery. Reference surgeon on orbital tumors by the Ministry of Health (Spain) since 2008.

Reference surgeon on orbital reconstruction on patients with tiroyd-related orbitopathy since 2008. He is an expert on cosmetic reconstruction of eyelid, eye-brow and periocular region.

He is an expert on ocular, eyelid and lacrimal tract plastic surgery. He is an expert on the operation of orbital tumors and lacrimal gland tumors.

Professional activities

Founder of the Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery Unit at the IMO in 1996. Head of the Orbital and Oculoplastic Surgery Unit of Valle de Hebrón University Hospital since 1998.

Teaching

Associate lecturer in Ophthalmology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Since 2000 he has been director of the doctorate course in Orbital Pathology and Oculoplastic Surgery at the Autonomous University of Barcelona at Valle de Hebrón University Hospital.

Tutor of the Master ́s Degree in Opthalmic and Orbital Plastic Surgery, part of the Continuous Learning Program of IMO – UAB.

Research

New techniques of reconstruction of thyroid-related exoftalmos. New non-invasive treatments in tumors that affect orbital region. Non-invasive techniques for patients wit severe eyelid ptosis.
